OUR CORE PROGRAMS

Our programs are designed to work together, providing a holistic toolkit for rural communities to achieve food security, financial independence, and environmental resilience.

Vocational Skills & Livelihoods Program

The Challenge: Without access to formal education or capital, many young people and women are locked out of the local economy. Our Action: We bridge the gap between ambition and opportunity. MAANYI provides intensive, practical training in high-demand trades such as tailoring, carpentry, masonry Knitting and Crocheting. Beyond the technical skills, we teach basic business management and financial literacy. The Impact: Graduates leave not just with a certificate, but with the ability to launch their own micro-enterprises, employ others, and break the cycle of poverty.

Sustainable Agriculture & Permaculture

The Challenge: Changing climates and traditional, resource-heavy farming methods are making it harder for rural families to rely on the land for food and income.

Our Action: We teach communities how to work with nature, not against it. Through hands-on community gardens and permaculture training, we equip local farmers with climate-resilient agricultural techniques. The Impact: Families grow nutrient-dense food year-round, restore the health of their local soil, and turn surplus harvests into reliable streams of income.

Community Empowerment & Environmental Sustainability Program

The Challenge: True resilience requires strong local leadership, but marginalized voices are often left out of decision-making.

Our Action: We create spaces for community dialogue, focusing specifically on empowering women and youth to take active leadership roles. We facilitate workshops on civic engagement, human rights, and cooperative building. The Impact: Communities advocate for their own needs, negotiate better market prices as cooperatives, and lead their own development initiatives long after MAANYI's initial training ends.
